School and my free time...

İts almost been 2 months since İ arrived in Ankara! Can you believe it??

Wow...time is flying by!! İ've been in school for 3 weeks (almost 4) and almost 2 months! İt's amazing how fast everything is going! School really makes things go faster...although its getting more difficult. Turns out the first week was just a warm-up in math and all the other classes! İ finally have my final schedule...İ have biology, physics, math, and english as my classes İ get graded on, and in addition to those, chemistry, turkish literature, history, geography, geometry, security, computer lab, library, and physical education...oh and 4 classes of french, two in a prep class and then the normla one...in the prep class we go down another grade and the people are all REALLY immature although they're very nice to us...

The classes are relatively the same...math is harder, no calculators, and problems that cover the whole board...Physics has gotten harder and harder the more and more the teacher teaches in turkish...its suposed to be in english, but the teacher has to explain to the other kids in turkish... Biology is still really easy...as is english...

Security is an interesting class...although İ dont know much about it since its all in turkish...but İ've looked at the books they got for it...its all about military...military uniforms, strategies, flags, and even about the dummers...its a very strange class...almost like a history class just about war. The man that teaches it used to be in the army so he knows a lot...and hes really bulky and tough looking...very intimidating!!!

As far as the other boys go, they're all young...and kinda immature...dont get me wrong, theres quite a few that are very handsome but İ dont talk to them...sometimes random boys come up to me and ask me questions like "where are you from" ect.
There was one boy, Alkan, who asked me to take a picture with him. İ think i made his day :D

İn my french class i also have a group of follwers...yesterday at lunch they bought me mentos and after they gave the to me, they said "waht no kiss?" so i gave one of them a kiss on the cheek...silly boys... as far as real potential boys here, all I can see is eye candy...everyone here is always really busy studying and stuff...but its ok...its probably better off that way...

On a usual day after school İ just come home...İ'm always pretty tired from waking up early and it seems a lot harder than in US...İ guess on Fridays İ usually go do something, go to the mall, go to the movies, or something...

Sometimes İ also go to Majo's on the weekdays...we always have a great time... we usually go out of the apartment for walks or to watch the boys playing soccer...she lives in a sitesi with lots of teenagers so sometimes we talk with them...or try to...

Me and her have also tried belly dancing from youtube vidoes...see the pictures? İ think we're cut out for it...we're not too bad...but we're crazy together...

We also always try to wink...and have taken some very crazy pictures! She's probably my best friend here...we're a lot alike...its very nice...

The last night i was there we sat at the dinner table for about an hour after we ate with her parents and talked about school and demonstrated a common class greeting...the teacher comes in, everyone stands, the teacher inspects them then says "gün aydin..." good morning or another greeting...then the boys all yell "sağol!" thanks....and we all sit...its very interesting and even funnier when we imitated it :D We also learned and perfectred our turkish head gestures...theres one for "no" where you tsk once and nod your head..you can also squint one eye while doing it to add to the effect...theres one for "lets go" which just looks like your head is spasming...and theres one where you *tsk tsk tsk* and shake your head...it was a very fun night...

İts hard to explain it but İ think i'm more comfertable in the culture thanks to her...she makes me want to go up to turks and talk...and we always talk to our classmates and they always teach us naughty turkish...haha...theres is also one girl, Şebnem (sheb-nem) and she goes "OMMMEELLEEE!!!!" everytime she sees me...its actually obnoxious...then the whole class will do it...but i guess it could be worse...for example, they do that with majo's name too but they pronounce it wrong...haha...

Last night we got to meet all the exchange students in Ankara and our advisors...Mine is a guy named Alican...Ali-john...he went to mexico in 1999 to 2000...hes 26...old compared to the rest...haha...

İn this picture, from left, Oliver from Canada, Julianna from Brazil, Thassila from Brazil, Corinne, from Connecticut, Leandro from Brazil, Rafaella from Brazil, Majo, and in front, me and Melissa from Mexico. İt was a fun night, although İ didnt do too good at bowling, İ mean worse than in America!!! İ'll post more pictures as people add them to their photoblogs and stuff but for now, this is it! İt was weird because there was like 50 rotex and 9 inbounds...theres 10 in total, Vanessa from Canada wasnt there...So totally in ankara, theres 2 americans, 2 canadians, 2 mexicans, and 4 brazilians...theres also another swedish girl in our school...her name is Abroo...shes 17 and in 9th class...she wasnt too happy...but we just learned yesterday that shes not on exchange, shes living there with her cousin! So she wont travel with us or anthing...

Speaking of traveling, my rotary club is taking me to Antalya on October 11th...and then our rotary distric and the İzmir district are all traveling to Kapadokia on October 18th!!! İt's gonna be great! my rotary club is also taking me on another trip october 27-29 to a city on the black sea...its called sidon or something...cant remember but i'm excited for that one too!!! İ'm most excited for Kapadokia though, theres a whole underground city taht we'll tour and we'll eat at this one restaraunt where you sit on the floor and eat at stone tables and while you eat, theres
dancers from all over turkey doing there style of dancing...i cant wait!!!!!!!!!

Well İ have to go...class is going to be done in a couple minutes..by the way im in school right now...in computer lab...we just pretty much have free time on the computers for 90 minutes!!! its kinda pointless if you ask me...

anyways...much love!!!!!!!!!
Kisses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love you all!!!!!!!
