Welcome 2008!!!!!!!!

The last few days of 2007 were really fun! On Sunday, the 30th, there was an interact (rotary kids under 18) party...Me, Majo, Melissa, Leandro, Olivier, and Thassila all went and had a blast! There was free food and free music. There was also a dance contest that me and Leandro won, thanks to his samba and my crumping :) There was also a limbo contest but no one really won that one. There was 2 DJs and a band, so we danced, jumped, and yelling for a few hours. Afterwards, we went to McDonalds with some turkish boys. While walking there, these little "Street Rats" bombarded them (We actually knew them because we watched the big soccer game of the year outside in the street since there was no more room left anywhere...) but they were agging on the HUGE guy! He must be about 300 kilos!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!! But we left with no fight or anything. Shortly after, we explored our options for the next night, New Years Eve...There were a lot of clubs, the one the boys were going to (Balcon), Oliviers friends house, a party with the Kaş kids...At the end of night, we still didnt know what we would do.

The next day we had school (blah!) and we decided on Olivier's friend house. So me and Majo get really really pretty in our new (matching style) dresses, and eat dinner with her family and her host sister who was home from Las Vegas, where she attends university. So it was fun and around 9 we met everyone, and me, Leandro, and Thassila went to meet 2 brazilians from İstanbul to come with us. So we meet them and they talk in portugese the whole way back, but once we got there, it was 10-ish...So we dance a little, talk, eat some chips. The 2 brazilians are actually going home, along with half of the İstanbul district because they were at a party and someone taped stuff that they were doing. One of them, Marcos, was only here since the end of November! Anyways, suddenly they were like "2 minutes until 2008!" so we all gather around the TV, turn it on, and WE MİSSED İT!!!!!!!!! all we saw were balloons falling and things saying Happy New Year. So we were a little awestruck that we missed it...but then started yelling and celebrating!!!!! Then the neighbors were lighting off fireworks so we went out and watched. The rest of the night was great and ended aroun 4 am...

The next morning (New Years Day), me and majo woke up around 9.30 and walked a mile to the McDonalds, which was closed, so we got Starbucks muffins and hot chocolate. The streets were DİSGUSTİNG!!!!!! There were puke piles all over the sidewalks, and garbage and confetti, And since the nights here get below freezing, the puke was all frozen. İt was gross!!!! And me and Majo were the only sign of life out that early. Hahahaha...We all tiredly walk around town for a while, and go home and sleep :) That was New Years here!!!! hahaha...good memories...

Also, my new theater production started! Me and Corinne went and tried out for High School Musical with the Turkish American Association. İ literally blew the auditions away! But there were so many kids, that they have 2 casts, so we will each do 2 shows. Me and Corinne are both Sharpay!!!!! The most covetted part :D Also, last Wednesday was our first practice and these 2 girls were looking at the 2 open chairs next to us...One suggests them and the other one says "We cant sit there! THOSE are Sharpays! We cant sit by Sharpays!!!!!" HAHAHAHA!!!!! İt was really funny! So İ will keep you posted about that!

A few things coming up, well Steve, the Austrailian, just came on Sunday and hes loving it so far! And on this coming Sunday, İ will leave to go on the big trip! The tour of Western Turkey. This includes İstnabul, Çanıkıla (the famous Aussie and New Zealand graveyard), İzmir, Ephesus (Town of Virgin Mary), Antalya, Konya, and many various little cities! İ'm SO excited! And İ will get to see all the exchangers again! Write more afterwards!
