Thanksgiving--Turkey Day *Gobble Gobble*

Thanksgiving was a great day!!! Despite being away from home...

İ spent the night at Majo's on Wednesday and since we were going to school on Thursday, we stayed up pretty late :) İn the morning we awoke at 9.30 and went to the grocery store to get ingredients for cooking. We came back around 10.30 and began to cook. Problems for me kept occuring as the day flew by. While making pudding, the batter boiled over the pan onto the stove top...İ burnt the brownies well baking them...The corn started popping in the pan...and the garlic bread was mine adn majo's problem because we didnt cook it with the garlic on it so it kept falling off!!!!! Majo seemed to cook with ease as she made Mexican spiced dishes...Then we got ready and left a half an hour late! Once we left, the problems continued...We forgot the pudding, and the corn juice spilt all over Majo's lap in the taxi....We left the taxi driver a little angry when he was surrounded by the smell of corn and butter!!!!
The dinner itself was lovely. All the exchange students in Ankara were there, although Leandro and Melissa came after we ate...Speaking of eating--WOW--the food was GREAT!!!! We had almost everything with the exception of cranberries and turkey, which we could've gotten but it was too expensive! We had a little international flavor with Hungarian carrots, and all of Majo's appetizers along with some turkish things, such as Dolma (grape leaves stuffed with rice and spices) and a few other things...we had mashed potatoes, bread, corn, stuffing, and rice...And we ate SOOOOO much!!!! We took a break and played around with Corinne's computer's camera... and then we had desert once Leandro and Melissa had eaten...Pumpkin and Apple pie...Brownies and chocolate pudding--which both turned out OK despite the cooking problems...
İ stole something from home too...İ made everyone go around the table and say something they're thankful for...it was all pretty much the same; food, family, friends, Türkiye, ect... but the thought was very nice...
After we ate we played Charades...it was a little difficult due to the language barrier...but it was fun :D
Then we went to a rotex meeting at a pub where we pretty much just sat around and talked...

İt was a great day filled with friends and food!!! And love...which is something that i thought would be missing, although it was in fact, present all day and night...İ didnt feel homesick at all, which was a little strange since it's one of my favorite holidays since we're all together!!!

Much love and hugs and kisses!!!!!!!!!
